The first establishment of our faculty was realized in 2016 depending Sakarya University. It was later affiliated to Sakarya University of Applied Sciences, which was established in 2018. However, the history of the Department of Tourism Management and the Department of Tourism Management Institute, which forms the basis of this faculty, is much older.

The Department of Tourism Management first started its teaching activities in the 2001-2002 academic year within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. It continues its educational activities in the Faculty of Business Administration between 2011-2016 and in the newly established Faculty of Tourism since 2016. The department has 1500 graduates in about 19 years.

In the Department of Tourism Management, which was first established at the graduate level under the Department of Business Administration in the academic year 1998-1999, it started to accept both thesis and non-thesis graduate students. Then, in 2002, the Department of Tourism Management Institute was established. Our department is connected to Sakarya University of Applied Sciences Graduate Education Institute, which was established in 2018. The department graduated 50 science doctors and 200 science experts in approximately 22 years. Many of our graduate research assistant at various universities in Turkey, as a lecturer and teaching assistants continue their academic activities.

Since its establishment, our faculty has provided mutual information sharing, internship opportunities and employment opportunities for its graduates, thanks to its close cooperation with tourism businesses in the Marmara Region. Thus, it has become one of the important faculties that can provide 70% guaranteed employment to its graduates. The studies and projects of our faculty that address regional tourism problems continue. Currently, there are 6 Professors, 4 Associate Professors, 4 Dr. Faculty Member, 2 Dr. There are Research Assistants and 8 Research Assistants.
